Donald Trump: No More ‘Birthright Citizenship’
Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump has laid out a controversial immigration plan that includes a call to end so-called ‘birthright citizenship’— the constitutional principle, enshrined in the 14th amendment, that babies born in the US automatically qualify as citizens. Margaret Stock, an immigration lawyer in the US state of Alaska, explains the origins of the principle and the practically of Trump’s plan.
