Goodes Grief
For the past few weeks, the future of one of Australia's most famous sportsman has hung in the balance. Aussie Rules football star Adam Goodes has been considering his career, after suffering racial abuse at the hands of some fans. however earlier this week Goodes decided to rejoin his team mates and joined the rest of the Sydney Swanns as they took on Geelong
It's not the first time that the sport has been at the forefront of the countries debate on racial integration. In 1993, whilst playing for St Kilda, Nicky Winmar responded to similar abuse by raising his shirt, and pointing to his skin. The photograph is an iconic image in Australian sporting history. But has anything really changed in the 22 years since?
