A Reporter's Role in Political Documentaries
Do politically challenging and emotionally invested documentaries change a reporter's role? And what do you expect from our coverage of the US primary elections?
The ongoing movement of migrants towards mainland Europe is a political crisis that is being closely followed by broadcasters across the world and by many of you. 成人快手 Correspondent Gabriel Gatehouse delved deeper into the story as he joined rescue boats helping migrants in his documentary, 鈥淎 Mediterranean Rescue鈥. In an equally contentious and emotional documentary, the 成人快手's Zarghuna Kargar followed the story of Farkhunda Malikzada 鈥 the innocent Afghan woman who was brutally murdered in a frenzied attack. Both these pieces moved many of you 鈥 the global audience 鈥 and raised questions around the potentially changing nature of a reporter's role. Rajan Datar is joined by Gabriel Gatehouse and Zarghuna Kargar to discuss the process of bringing these politically charged stories to air.
And with the US media feverishly reporting the development of the nation's primary elections and the surrounding political campaigns, American listeners compare the coverage of their local media to that from the 成人快手 World Service.
