‘Love and Mercy’ is an intimate new biopic of Brian Wilson, the singer, songwriter and co-founder of the Beach Boys.

Director Bill Pohlad discusses the film, which spans more than three decades of Wilson’s life.

It reveals the darker and more complex story that lies beneath the music’s surface, including Wilson’s battle with mental illness and drug abuse, his years under the domineering influence of therapist Dr Eugene Landy and his redemptive relationship with his second wife Melinda Ledbetter.
