About the music: Princess Constance Magogo (1900-1984) was a Zulu princess and mother of Chief Mangosuthu Buthelezi, who would become leader of the Inkatha Freedom Party. She was a gifted composer, singer and instrumentalist and conserver of traditional Zulu music. In this lament, she sings of how she will always feel bound to the love of her life, though she will sacrifice this love and marry another, for the greater good of the Zulu people.
