Unconscious bias in science 'holds women back'
Dr Jennifer Rohn, a cell biologist at University College London, has responded to comments by British Nobel Prize winner Sir Tim Hunt that suggested women should stay out of the laboratory because they distract men.
Speaking to Today, she said "there's a lot of unconscious bias... This really holds women back".
She said most female scientists had experienced bias, such as not being asked onto shortlists for candidates and being "looked upon as inferior" to male scientists.
