Protest over 77,000 new Leeds homes plan
A march has taken place in Leeds city centre by greenbelt campaigners to protest against the city council's plans to build 77,000 new houses by 2028.
It's despite Office for National Statistics figures stating only 44,500 are required.
A Leeds City Council spokesman said: "It is clear that we have to find land in order to meet the future need housing in Leeds up to 2028 to reflect the changing population of our city.
"The plans we have put in place aims to do this by minimising the impact on the greenbelt and maximising the use of brownfield land.
"That's why we have made it clear we want to be using more than a majority of brownfield land."
Demonstrator Briony Sloan spoke to reporter Alasdair Gill.
