Ethiopia: Democracy v Growth?
Ethiopia has had a decade of double-digit growth but has freedom been a casualty of boom? And, the challenges facing Israeli farmers operating near to the border with Gaza.
Ethiopia was once a by-word for war and famine but with more than a decade of double-digit growth, it has become one of Africa's more remarkable tales of recovery. But has freedom been a casualty of Ethiopia's growth story? We ask Gabriel Schulze, founder and CEO of Schulze Global Investments, which controls a $100m fund - the only international investment vehicle dedicated exclusively to Ethiopian companies.
Also, we hear from Peter Welborn, chairman of estate agents Knight Frank in Africa, who has produced a report examining the remarkable property boom affecting many of Africa's biggest cities.
And, Marie Keyworth looks at the challenges facing Israeli farmers and other businesses operating near to the border with Gaza. Successive outbreaks of war and shelling between Israel and Hamas, which controls Gaza, have made life on the border unpredictable. Marie hears from local businesses learning to adapt.
