Mandy and John: No Longer The Man I Met
A couple who got together second time around now face the reality of his dementia. Both found love on a retreat on Iona in 2009, and putting their previous relationships behind them, they looked forward to the promise of their new life together. But the path of true love has proven to be a more difficult journey than either of them could have imagined. Shortly after moving in together John was diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer, and given six years to live. Now in remission, worse was to follow, with increasing memory loss both feared John might have Alzheimer's. They now have the results that confirm what they had suspected, but undeterred they have recently got married. With the support of their family, and their local church, they now bravely face their future together with honesty and compassion.
