Meet the Bazalgettes

The Bazalgettes link Horse Racing, Victorian Engineering and ground-breaking Television.

What's the link between these topics - Horse Racing, Victorian Engineering and ground-breaking Television?

The link is a family, the Bazalgettes.

Simon Bazalgette has been explaining to me how he fits into his family's Dynasty, but you'll have heard last year's Grand National just then, and that's Simon's primary concern. As Head of the Jockey Club, he's responsible for staging the race.

We'll get onto Victorian sewers, but what is it about the National that's so special?
