Mark Knopfler on Dire Straits - "It was just so big"
Dire Straits front man Mark Knopfler's new album, Tracker, marks key points in his life from working as a copy boy to touring with Bob Dylan.
Tracker includes songs about his experiences as a 15-year-old working as a copy boy on the Newcastle Evening Chronicle, touring with Bob Dylan and his great times with Dire Straits.
Asked about Dire Straits, Knopfler said the band's stage production was sometimes at odds with his instrumental preferences.
"We had three big stages that were leap-frogging around ahead of each other," he said.
