Why these three won't be voting in the General Election
Turnout for the 2010 general election was the third lowest since the introduction of universal suffrage, with one in three people abstaining from casting their vote.
With the 2015 election a little over two months away, 5 live's John Pienaar went along to the Houses of Parliament with three non-voters to meet Conservative MP Nadine Dorries.
19-year-old Rhiannon and 58-year-old Myk spoke of their "disenfranchisement" and "disempowerment".
Myk said "nobody listens" to the public once a party is elected to power.
28-year-old Carl said he does not vote because "half the time" he does not understand what each party stands for, a sentiment shared by Ms Dorries who said "politicians are to blame" for the general public's disenfranchisement.
