A Chelsea fan from Southampton said his head 鈥渨ent to mush鈥� when West Bromwich Albion drew with Burnley, and he realised he had won his 拢2 accumulator bet.

Dean Clay predicted wins for Southampton, Chelsea and Crystal Palace, but was too nervous to watch the last of his 14 games, so discovered the result while he was out playing golf.

The 48-year-old said he knew nothing about the 拢23,000 bonus that was added to his 拢69,000 win until he returned to the bookies yesterday.

Mr Clay said his wife had 鈥渁 little one on the way鈥�, and they would use the money to buy a new house.
