A nutritionist's four top tips to reducing your daily sugar intake
Nutritionist Celia Cooper has shared four top tips on how you can reduce your sugar intake and maintain a balanced, healthy diet.
1. Breakfast cereal: Some breakfast cereals can contain high amounts of sugar. Check the sugar content in each, or go for something such as porridge to start your day and add fruit.
2. Drinks: It's not just fizzy drinks which can have high amounts of sugar, fruit juice can too. To reduce your sugar intake, try diluting fruit juices as well as drinking plenty of water.
3. Snacks: When you're in need of a snack, go for a healthy option such as a piece of fruit or nuts.
4. Yoghurts: Fruit yoghurts can be high in sugar, so go for plain ones instead.
All of these tips should form part of a healthy, balanced diet along with regular exercise.
