David Oyelowo: Multi-culturalism in media 'getting worse'
Media in Britain "isn't engaging with its history" in representing black people on screen, actor David Oyelowo has said.
The actor, who plays Martin Luther-King in the Oscar nominated film Selma, said decision makers who "tend to be white, male and of a certain age" make choices that reflect themselves on screen.
The issue "is not getting better, it's getting worse", he said.
Oyelowo has also defended fellow British actor Benedict Cumberbatch for using the term "coloured" during an interview.
