In one minute: Seven commentators debate the election debate
Peter Allen attempted to host a seven-way debate about the proposed general election debates which could now include the Conservatives, Labour, Lib Dems, Greens, UKIP, SNP and Plaid.
The seven political commentators who joined the debate, in order of appearance, were: Harry Cole from Guido Fawkes, Isobel Oakshott from the Evening Standard and Sunday Times, Sebastian Payne from the Spectator, James Kirkup from the Daily Telegraph, Gaby Hinsliff from the Guardian, Julia Hartley Brewer, formally of the Sunday Express, and Jim Waterson from Buzzfeed
Proposals for a seven-party debate came after Prime Minster, David Cameron, refused to take part unless the Green Party was invited to the general election TV debate.
Sky and Channel 4 will still host a head-to-head between David Cameron and Ed Miliband, but the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ and ITV are expected to offer to stage seven-way debates.
