A man whose mother was lost on the missing Malaysian Airways flight MH370 has told families of relatives aboard the missing Air Asia plane not to give up hope.

The Air Asia plane, an Airbus A320-200, disappeared midway into the flight of more than two hours from the city of Surabaya.

Flight MH370, that Steve Wang's mother was travelling on, is still missing after it disappeared nine months ago.

Mr Wang's told relatives of the 162 people on board the Air Asia plane, "Stay strong and don't give up hope."
