Rachel lost her 19 year old daughter Rosie suddenly to septicaemia at Christmas-time 2008. She has been friends with Mandy, a fellow teacher for twenty years and they spend much time together, often going for walks. Rachel values Mandy because she lets her be quiet, but also lets her talk about Rosie. Rachel, her husband John and Rosie's siblings have tried to turn their grief into something positive, including raising money for arts teaching at schools in Kenya. Rachel and Mandy came into the studio to discuss their friendship, Rosie and grief.
