Audio diary describes days before Alan Henning's capture
The days before Salford taxi driver Alan Henning's capture have been described in an audio diary recorded for 5 live, that has never been broadcast until now.
In the diary, recorded in December 2013, fellow aid convoy volunteer Dr Shameela Islam-Zulfiqar explained how they were all fearful crossing the border, following the death of British medic Abbas Khan.
She also described how the volunteers helped 47-year-old Mr Henning, known as "Gadget," to enjoy Christmas Day despite being thousands of miles from home.
"He was missing his kids obviously, but determined to do what he'd come to do," she told the programme.
