The Betrayal of the Kurds
Iraqi Kurds abandoned by Iran in 1975, the WW2 liberation of Paris, and the Partition of India.
The Kurds of Northern Iraq have long been caught in conflicts between their neighbours - we go back to 1975, when they were abandoned by Iran and the US after a deal was struck with Saddam Hussein.
Also on the show, we go back to the liberation of Paris in World War Two - and a military plane crash in the north of England on the same day which killed more than 30 primary schoolchildren.
Plus the Partition of India and rebellious Zimbabwean writer Dambudzo Marechera.
