Watergate: 40 years on
It was a stunning moment in American history, and for two reporters perhaps the greatest scoop of the modern age. Forty years ago this week, President Richard Nixon sat down in front of a television camera and did something no American President had ever done before him - he resigned. Owen Bennett-Jones looks back at how Watergate unfolded; then you’ll hear from Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein – the Washington Post journalists whose investigations into the scandal contributed to his downfall.
