Kelis joins Lauren to co-host an hour of the show ahead of her 6Music Festival appearance
R&B singer Kelis was raised in Harlem, NYC the daughter of a jazz-loving Pentecostal minister, and a fashion designer. She started singing in church and formed her first band (an R&B trio called BLU) while still at at high school. In 1998, her Neptunes-produced debut album Kaleidoscope took off quickly in Europe spawning singles Caught Out There and Good Stuff and earning her BRIT, NME and Q Awards.
Following 2010's dance-dominated Flesh Tone, Kelis has signed to Coldcut's Ninja Tune indie label. Forthcoming album Food is produced by TV On The Radio's Dave Sitek and marks a return to Kelis' more alternative roots. Kelis will be joining Lauren to co-host an hour of the show ahead of her appearance at the first 6Music Festival.
