A programme with all mod cons: Pascale Harter has reporters' stories of domestic dramas and dilemmas from Gaza, France, Zanzibar, the USA, Greece and Denmark

A programme with all mod cons: Pascale Harter introduces reporters' stories of domestic dramas and dilemmas around the world. Our tales of the stuff of daily life include: Simon Cox finding life in Gaza both more and less rugged than he'd anticipated; Jake Wallis Simons meeting a robot cleaner in a Danish old people's home, and finding out how it fits into a programme of sweeping governmental cuts; Maria Margaronis visiting the Greek textile mill which (still) makes the blankets of her childhood; Petroc Trelawny strolling down the chilly boulevard of East-German-style apartment blocks which sprung up in the unlikely environs of Zanzibar, off the coast of East Africa; Chris Bockman, washing up in a municipal shower in Franceeece and Denmark; and Mike Wendling, asking why it's so hard to get hold of anything that's made in the USA any more - and hearing why one American shopkeeper insists "we can send a man to the moon, but we can't make a toaster".
