Geoff has a special one-hour documentary marking the 55th anniversary of the deaths of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper on Feb 3rd 1959. Described by Don Mclean in his song 鈥淎merican Pie鈥� as "The Day The Music Died", Geoff tells the story of that fateful tour, billed as 鈥淭he Winter Dance Party鈥�. With first-hand contributions from Jerry Allison and Sonny Curtis of The Crickets, Dion DiMucchi ("Di-Moochy") and Buddy`s tour band members which included future country music mega-star Waylon Jennings. It鈥檚 packed with music from all three, including home recordings made by Buddy, just weeks before the tragedy.
