"It was depressing" - JC Chandor, director of All is Lost

It’s all about journeys this week on The Arts Hour. "All is Lost" the Robert Redford film is released in the UK and we talk to director JC Chandor; we profile Ahmed Fouad Negm - Egypt’s Tahrir protest poet whose life and work reflects his country's political journey. We meet the Nigerian-born rapper Tomi Kuti alias Mista Tolu who grew up in Italy and wants to challenge racism in the country. On the release of The Hobbit The Desolation of Smaug - we talk about the mythical journey of Bilbo Baggins – played by actor Martin Freeman. The former Granta editor and author John Freeman talks about his journey to meet his literary hero John Updike whilst getting divorced and Bruce McCall talks about his illustrated book with US chat-show host David Letterman - "This Land was Made for You and Me but Mostly Me". Finally the singer Guy Garvey from British pop band Elbow discusses the concert encore and how it's changed over the centuries.
