From a blanket factory to Mayor – High Wycombe
He's the Jamaican immigrant who set sail for Britain in the 1960's dreaming of a land where the streets were paved with gold.
Sebert Graham quickly realised the reality was different to the one he'd seen in footage shown in cinema's back home.
He quickly got a job working in an electric blanket factory before becoming High Wycombe's first African Caribbean Mayor.
His experiences distilled from 40 hours of conversations with Ian Mulder feature in a new book called One People Mayor: A Journey.
Sebert told Nesta how he adjusted to life in the UK and its harsh weather.
