Beavers are native to Scotland, but for many years were extinct here - until now.

Beavers are known as "Nature's Engineers", famous for chopping down wood, building dams and lodges, and having very strong teeth that never stop growing! They used to be one of Scotland's native species, until they were hunted to extinction, 400 years ago. Now, four families of beavers have been brought over from Norway to Knapdale in Argyll in an experiment to see how they fare in the Scottish countryside. Join three children and a countryside ranger as they explore the area and look for clues that these nocturnal creatures have been active in the area. They visit a large dam the beavers have built – and you can try building an imaginary one for yourself ...
