Melvyn Bragg and David Harry discuss Thomas More's persecution of Tyndale's supporters.
Melvyn Bragg interviews David Harry (Teaching Fellow of History, Bristol University) about the horrific fate of William Tyndale's followers as recorded in the 16th century work, "Foxe's Book of Martyrs". The book graphically illustrates the grisly persecutions and executions of Protestant martyrs who died because of their support of William Tyndale – either for owning a copy of his New Testament, or for being associated in some way with him. Melvyn and David discuss renowned heretic hunter, Thomas More and his obsession with tracking down William Tyndale and his allies.
