Blaengarw Regeneration
The colliery closed in Blaengarw, following the end of the Miners鈥� strike in 1985. Townspeople remember discussing environmental issues in the town at the time. Decisions were made to reclaim industrial landscapes for community use ( with potential for the development of tourism), leading to the creation of the 鈥楥alon Lan Park鈥� just outside the town.
