A Gloucester mother reacts to claims that single parents are less effective
Following comments from a former Lib Dem advisor that men must contribute more to family life, one single mother from Gloucester says there's no shortfall in the parenting in her family.
The deputy prime minister's former advisor Richard Reeves is reported to have said that while men have 'greatly increased' their contribution to childrearing and housework, women 'continue to get the sharp end of the stick', and that single parent families are 'less effective'.
With a higher proportion of lone parents in black communities, what more can be done to ensure that men play a role in the lives of their children?
