Anglo-Indians: The last generation?
The 9th International Anglo-Indian reunion has been held in Calcutta. More than 2,000 Anglo-Indians from across the world attended. One of its main themes was how to preserve Anglo-Indian culture. There are estimated to be around 200,000 Anglo-Indians in India and around 300,000 elsewhere. An Anglo-Indian is defined in the Indian constitution as someone that can trace their ancestry back to the days where their father was British or European and their mother Indian.
Well some travelled from the UK for the conference and we asked if they feel people are aware of the Anglo-Indian community in England?
