The Treaty of Edinburgh

Elizabeth I didn鈥檛 like the idea of helping subjects revolt against their ruler, but neither did she like the influence that France had in Scotland. So in 1560, she decided to send English troops to Scotland to fight the French.

Following the death of Mary of Guise, the English and French agreed on the Treaty of Edinburgh, which led to the Parliament of Scotland rejecting the Catholic Church.
