Where did Vikings come from?

A look at where the Vikings came from and where they settled. They arrived in Britain in the late 8th century, the first Vikings were Danish, but Norwegian Vikings landed in Ireland and parts of Scotland in AD795. In some areas they drove the people out, but in others they settled peacefully with the inhabitants. In the late 9th century they ruled over a kingdom in north and eastern England called Danelaw.
