A visit to the countryside of Mexico (pt 2/3)
Barnaby Bear visits the rural State of Michoac谩n and Lake Patzcuaro in the countryside of Mexico. Not far from the lake is the village of Tocuaro, which is famous for its wooden masks. Barnaby visits the home of a family which makes the masks. Carving the masks from soft white wood takes about five days and the masks are then painted and decorated. Barnaby sees a selection of masks including a leopard, a bear and a snake.
