A mother of two who was suffering from depression describes the moment she walked out of her home and left her family behind. In the first of the two-part series Missing, Presumed鈥� journalist Penny Marshall finds out what happens when an adult goes missing. Rifling through green filing cabinets full of hundreds of files inside the Missing Persons鈥� Unit, Penny hears about missing persons cases dating as far back as the 1950s. She experiences the processes that the police and Missing Persons鈥� Unit go through in their efforts to find missing adults and talks to the families of those who are still hoping their loved ones will come home.
