Glastonbury's links with Jesus Christ
The Chalice Well at the foot of Glastonbury Tor is one of the best known holy wells in Britain. Joseph of Arimathea is said to have buried the cup which Jesus used at the Last Supper at the site. The water that flows at the well is sometimes called the ‘Blood Spring’ and its high iron content is said to have strength-boosting properties. Presenter Tom Craine talks to Natasha Wardle about the well’s remarkable history.
