In this extended clip from the programme, Dr Mark Miodownik talks to Professor Andre Geim at the University of Manchester about his work on graphene. Stiffer than diamond but pliable as cling film, it is the strongest and thinnest material that can be imagined.
He tells how this amazing material can be produced by using nothing more than a piece of graphite and some sticky tape.
