DI Richard Poole is flown to the caribbean island of Saint Marie, from London, to investigate the suspicious murder of a British Cop. As a typical English policeman he is completely lost in the Caribbean, he hates being - its so hot, full of insects and there' sand everywhere . Richard thinks he's doing well when he arrests a suspicious French cleaner for murdered and people smuggling.
