Babysitting birds
Pairs of spur winged plovers make noisy and aggressive territorial displays, calling, posturing and even dive-bombing their rivals. The plovers can afford to leave their nest to do all this squabbling because they lay eggs that are very well camouflaged against the ground. In contrast, the tinamou bird stays on its eggs because they are a conspicuous purple while the bird itself blends in very well.
