The St Georges misericords
Alastair Sooke visits St Georges Chapel in Windsor Castle to examine a series of impressive wooden carvings, called misericords, hidden under the choir stalls. These were made by chief carver William Barclay and depict a medieval world of bawdy wit, earthly pleasures, hellfire and demons, and anti-establishment satire.
