A Bus Trip round East Donegal
On a bus tour put on by the East Donegal Ulster-Scots Association, as part of the Francis Makemie Summer School, Liam Logan is in Raphoe.
Belinda Mehaffey gives some background to the historical aspects of this area and tells us about the Viking bishop; before we move on to the homestead of the Reverend James Porter, member of Ballindrait church and a leader of the United Irishmen who was hanged in Greyabbey.
In Lifford, we look at the architecture of the Parish Church; and on arrival at Ballylynan Church, we find out more about Sarah Leech the local poetess - and discuss the significance of trees and whins in the area. (Broadcast: 9 Jun 2007)
