Stewart Buchanan on The Battle of Glenmacquin
On a bus tour put on by the East Donegal Ulster-Scots Association, as part of the Francis Makemie Summer School, Liam Logan meets up with Belinda Mehaffey, author, librarian and member of Donegal Historical Society.
Belinda is acting as Tour Guide for the bus trip round some of the historical sites of East Donegal.
Liam chats with Stewart Buchanan, one of the organisers of the Tour who tells him a bit more about the Battle of Glenmaquin which lasted for all of twenty minutes!
Glenmaquin was where the Lagganeers fought a very decisive battle against the Irish rebels under Sir Phelim O鈥橬eill in about 1642 - and Stewart is planning a re-enactment of this battle later in the year. (Broadcast: 9 Jun 2007)
