Liam Logan at a Dramatic Conference in Banbridge
The Ulster-Scots Agency are running a number of conferences entitled ‘Ulster-Scots Treading the Boards’.
Liam Logan attends the ‘Re-enactment Conference’ in the Belmont House Hotel, Banbridge where he catches up with Lord John Laird who tells Liam about plans for a re-enactment of the Battle of the Boyne in July: while James Kee of Bready Ulster-Scots discusses plans for the Twelfth of July in Donemana and ‘The Crimson Players’ annual re-enactment of the Siege of Derry.
Vivienne Hewitt, dramatist, tells Liam that re-enactment should mean real immersion in a certain historical persona: it isn’t drama but is about representing the past and exploring it through research. (Broadcast: 4 Nov 2006)
