Maurice Leyden: The Half-Cut
The work of the weaver poets is to the fore as part of the Belfast Open House Festival as Belfast singer and song-gatherer, Maurice Leyden, has put together a new show called ‘The Half Cut’.
He tells Liam Logan a bit more about the programme which will fuse music and poetry, and tells us where the term ‘Half Cut’ comes from.
He plays the song ‘The Lurgan Braes’ which mentions the town of Portadown. (Broadcast: 24 Sep 2006)
