David and Goliath in the Scots language
There鈥檝e been many attempts over the years to translate the Bible into different languages. Glasgow man, Jamie Stewart, is in Belfast at Townsend Street Presbyterian Church, up the Shankill Road, with his own version.
Jamie reads from 鈥楢 Glasgow Bible鈥� - the story of David and Goliath: and tells Liam that he has combined the four gospels into one dramatic version which he has been performing over the years.
He discusses Lorimer鈥檚 version which is an ancient, true good Scots tongue; but Jamie says hiw own version is more accessible to the ordinary person although still done in a very respectful way.
