Does Anyone Control the Internet?

The internet is inherently democratic, but can anyone control it? Presenter, Dr Aleks Krotoski, visits Mountain View in California, home to the server for all the world鈥檚 dot-com addresses (over 80 million in total). It has a lot of back-up and support, so would be very difficult to harm or destroy. It would go against the democratic ethos of the internet for it to be controlled by an authority. As it is at the moment, anybody who wants to participate in the internet can do so.
