Stonking song
Wrens, and especially baby ones, are extremely endearing. With their small, dumpy bodies, cheeky cocked tail and a voice to boast about, these little birds are a real favourite. The wren's is one of the loudest of bird songs, not only in the garden but anywhere. And there's a reason why their so loud. It may be surprising to know that the wren is one of the commonest species of bird, not because they hang around in big flocks, but simply because they are everywhere. And it's not just gardens. These little birds can happily survive in moorland and on sea cliffs and rocky islands. In towns their big songs can cut through the noise of traffic, but in the wild it can even overpower the roar of the wind or the crashing of the sea.
