Admiring from afar

Gordon Buchanam is off to see some sea eagles. They were wiped out and disappeared from Scotland for 80 years. Now they're back and nesting on Mull. The eagles' nest is among the standard pines and there's a forestry commission hide up here so Gordon goes in to have a look and hopefully see his first sea eagle's nest. The hide looks quite busy but that's not a bad thing at all. Hopefully the birdwatchers have been here for a few hours and they'll be able to give an up-to-date report on what's been happening. It appears that the adults haven't been back for a while, so they might come back any moment. Sure enough, a sea eagle returns to the nest. That was the mother who just came in with a hare or rabbit. Even at this distance you can tell it's a huge, huge bird. Gordon can't get any closer - these birds are so heavily protected that he'd be breaking the law if he did, so he's going to have to be content with hanging around and hope for another glimpse.
