This week Charlie welcomes Oumou Sangare, the grand diva of Wassoulou Malian music to the studio.

Accompanied by six musicians she performs three tracks from her latest album, Seya. As ever, Oumou doesn鈥檛 shy from addressing difficult issues in her songs: young girls forced into arranged marriages, polygamy, abusive husbands. She says: 'I will fight until my dying day for the rights of African women and of women throughout the world.' But she also celebrates the natural beauty of the fertile Wassoulou region of Mali.
