Spencer Kelly looks into the future of quantum computing, an emerging technology that makes bold promises to revolutionise many areas.
Click goes quantum! Spencer Kelly looks into the future of quantum computing, an emerging technology that makes bold promises to revolutionise cryptography, pharmaceuticals and many other areas of computing but is still struggling to make it off the lab bench and into the real world. But with big tech companies aiming for so-called quantum supremacy early next year, this powerful new form of computing could be with us very soon. Kat Hawkins visits the Quantum Technologies Fair to find out how companies and university spin-offs are taking quantum tech and turning it to innovative applications in healthcare and industry, such as trapping viruses using laser beams, and using diamond sensors to detect heart disease.
Meanwhile, Dan Simmons takes a look at the latest 360 cameras and David Reid tries to use tech to live without cash in India. While in Tokyo, we see a restaurant which uses video and audio projections to transform itself.
